HeliumReborn on Harmattan

HeliumReborn is now the default browser in Nemo Mobile. I haven't done any development on it lately, but people contributing to Nemo have done couple of really nice contributions. The most important one was the addition of pinch-to-zoom functionality. It works quite nicely.

Since some people using N9 with Harmattan might also be interested in trying out HeliumReborn, I grabbed the latest sources from its Github repository, and packaged it for Harmattan. HeliumReborn 1.1.3 debian package is downloadable from here.

    1. I do not know why, but for some reason you need to tap the text field for a second time to open virtual keyboard in some text fields. This at least worked for me in gmail.

    1. Tabs would be cool feature. I'd like to implement them, but at the moment I do not have time to work on HeliumReborn. So unless somebody else does them, they are not going to be done anytime soon.

    1. Currently I'm not having time or energy to work on HeliumReborn, but I'm hoping towards spring I would have some time to work on it. Also nobody else has done any new contributions lately so there isn't really anything new to release.

If there will be updates in the code, I will definitely find time to update the Harmattan package also.

    1. As HeliumReborn is quite minimal browser, there is no Add-on type of API for extensions that integrate with the browser, so no possibility for AddBlock type of extensions.

For the content there is NPAPI plugins, for example Flash plugin might work. However, I do not think anyone has really tested.
